I was really impressed by what you were able to accomplish. It looks awesome! BUT as you said it is incomplete so it isn't really ground breaking or amazing. Just some really nice shots that make me wonder what could have been.

AkiniM responds:

I just wanted to know what my potential is, I am surprised by what I did in five days only on my PC!
So why leave it like that?
I'm going to finish it !!
And it will be epic!

really good

really great animation, though it seems to move a bit too much at points, it does display a lot of life, and the animation tell a quite ridiculous story very well. the voice acting as very good, and the atmosphere and tone set were great. i like the way when the cat is on top of the "victim" he is perched there just like a cat. lol.
i found the easter egg... was that person serious? easily the strangest voice acting i've ever heard.

CatFat responds:

Haha we're really not sure if he was serious, that's what makes it so peculiar.
Thanks for your positive comments :)

not something i really enjoyed

certain aspects of your animation i found to be enjoyable. i liked the mouth movements the way you combined tweening fx and fbf seamlessly. being as this was an animation based on talking, that should and be and was one of the main focal areas. that was the good.
one of your main areas that you need work, was in story. although there are many random animations that are good, i found this lacking greatly in context. little beyond two animals saying hi, was there anything. the opening wasn't awful, the area of "how dare you trespass..." but then it went to an area of random, too random to keep in context to the "story" and not random enough to be completely in the wtf category. another major area of needed work was on your drawings themselves. other than your mouths and the very badly drawn whale, your line work was very close to atrocious. if you are using a mouse try using the line tool and using the black arrow to smooth the lines into the shapes you want. it's a long process but so is all animation. if you have a tablet, this was inexcusable. just take your time.
i have nothing to show , so you don't have to listen to me. i'm not a professional or am i even all that good, but my advice is to take your time. animation takes a very long time. find some tutorials, and watch them and practice. look at how Johnny utah does his talking movies. watch cyanide and happiness, and study how they do their randomness. many of the artists on this site are very good, and will help you if you ask.
quite simply best of luck, but i did not find this very good.
hopefully i'll like your next one though!

i like the message

i mean the song and the animation made a good message. the irony of the song's music to it's context coupled with the somewhat ridiculos images was funny. my problem was was that this didn't show too much work on your part. this was badly animated, and your drawing were not too good. your perspective was off, but there is worse out there.
if you had made the song this would have been great, but that was honestly the best part of this whole thing.

it was good, but it could have been better if you put more into it.
best of luck

Kenzu responds:

My aim was to make a movie to the song and to spend roughly 50 hours on it. I have spent that much. To draw it with the best art I can produce, it would take probably 100 hours, however time is limited and this isn't the main project.

i was partially amazed

the work you did with link hand, was decently vexing. i mean there definately wasn't much to see as far as story or or humor or supurb animation, but still the work you did with timing was quite the amzing thing. most people when sincing animation to music (including at times myself) don't pay much attention to perfecting the timing, or the movements. yet you did! zelda's hands followed the movement of the actual playing of the harp, plucking strings in occordance to how they should be. link actually moved his hand in respect to the sound of the orcarina. if it was a high note all of his fingers were raised. if a low sound all his fingers were on (respectivly) elongating the flutes resonating chamber making the sound longer.
the problem comes in that you spent too much time on timing and not enough time on entertainment value. if this was an e-card type of thng, this is great, but as far as an animated movie is concerned, no, this really isn't.

thank you for showing your support of a classic and great game,
best of luck

p.s.: nice art work

eERIechan responds:

Hey thank you! ^^
Well, this is an animation of them playing musical instruments, it's not much I can add to that ^^
Plus, performing music for others is also count as entertainment ;)

i'm confused

the movie wasn't bad... it just didn't make much sense. in the begining it was the worst as far as understanding. there it was choppy first off, and secondly, your direction was simply weird... but i believe thats what you were going for so i'll leave that alone. what was upsetting was that it seemed the quaility of the film was somewhat mediocre. it was very hard to see what was happening, and i'm not talking about the staticy tv thing. the entire film was somewhat "gritty", which may have been what you were going for yet it obscured the animation you made. as well the sound quaility at the end was simply not up to par with what you needed in my opinion. you were expressing a climax of a story all in sound, yet the sound wasn't clear enough, nor iconic nough to be understood as easily as it should have been. as well as a veiwer it had me confused as to why there were gun sounds. if you had shown the protagonist with a gun it would have made that scene more accessible and more suspence making. in a final note i beleive pehaps you should increase the frame rate, it was very choppy.

still, best of luck on your work and future submissions

ATOMICCLOUD responds:

Thanks for the review, you must have put ALOT of thought into it. The quality must have been wrecked by movie-maker compresion. Otherwise, thanks. Another thing was that if i had animated the guns being fired, i would have to loop it alot. I tried to keep it close to the original comic.

i don't take offense to this movie.

i'm not the type of person to take offense from movies. thats not why i find this movie crappy. no this movie is crappy because it is. it is baddly animated, and most of the movie are nothing more than a photograph with a looping background. some only had looping background music.
i think that if your going to try and offend people, do it in style. there was nothing good about this movie. it wouldn't be upsetting if the distasteful topic was animated well or made fun or creative but this simply was shitty.

all i want is a better set of movies, is that wrong of me to ask for?

Yes, it is wrong. Go back to your fucking Mario shit.

toonan, i'll remember that name

i found it rather funny. the concept was great, meaning you have the creativity to make good flashes. movies with watchable stories. it actually made me laugh. as well your animation did have a bit of that retro feel to it, witch is something i personally like. my main negitive feedback comes in the area of the animation, and the voices. the voice acting was annoying in many places, because it was that high pitched thing. as well with the animatin i found that certain areas needed to be worked on. on both of your characters the shoulder that should have been behind the chest was in front of it. as well the lines were wavy in places, and i saw a fill/paint brush area had kind of leaked onto the hammock. other than that i found the movie enjoyable.

best of luck, great idea

toonan responds:

Right on !! i know i've rushed through few places. I appreciate your feedback.

And thanks to others too for watching.

i liked the movie

the movie was great. it seemed largely influenced by dark animation's such as salad fingers. it was short sweet and straight to the mental scaring. i like that.
the scream was annoying though, but great idea. they had a short like this kinda in jthm. idk, it was a really cool and smooth flash.

irrelivent responds:

JTHM rules. Good day to you, sir.

this could be the best thing on NG

the art in the "knee deep in death" series is the main hook. the art is smooth and crisp, and it draws you in nicely. the exageration at parts works nicely as well (dispite what others say) because it shows the extreame happenings around the characters in question. the art and style are some of the best on newgrounds. i don't think i ever understood fully the horror of zombies until watching this movie, with the pictures showing the relation ships of the character to the zombies.

the story is filling out nicely too. in the first episode, you saw that there was an invasion of zombies, and now you have pinpointed the story toward a suburban area, with a main character, other than just mass mayhem. now all thats missing in the story is the broader story of how this all began, but i'll be patient, hard as it may be :).

people are also complaining about the length of these animation, but as we all know it is almost impossible to make them longer. besides other than wanting more, theres no need to make them longer, because the main point is gotten across in each episode. the length fits perfectly fine, but i do want more.

now in terms of music. i love the way the song fits to the animation. it goes from the paralyzing fear, in the softer intro, to the fuller more powerful main song, during the action. the zombie sounds do have a bit of an odd quality, but it makes it your own. i would find it cool though if you put the song "knee deep" by job for a cowboy in your series, i think it would make a nice bit of irony.

finally, i do have a few questions, that i wouldn't mind having explained eventually. i doesn't have to be immediately, but you know...

why is the character in the garage?

how long does it take for the virus to take hold? the zombies move fast meaning rigor mortise hasn't taken hold yet.

are other characters gonna be involved or does this just follow this new guy?

i watched some of your other animations on this site, and comparatively this animation series is professional. how did you go about these changes?

i know i type a lot, but i only do so about things i like or feel strongly about. feel proud to get my full review. lol. i know my opinion isn't much in the world of animation, but if you do get to reading this, i hope it helps or gives yopu some new ideas.

a new fan

wow. thank you for this. i've emailed you my response.

Haven't been on this site in awhile, but doing a paper on memes made me miss this place.
